Thank you, thank you. I'm actually still surprised that I got so lucky in the love dept. I was a late bloomer in all ways but the physical.

Anyway, I'm dealing with the whole name-change process. I put that whole issue on the back burner, subconcsiously speaking, in the months before the wedding. It was just too weird, to think of myself as Mrs. Somebody. Most guys will never know how odd it is to spend the first almost-30 years of your life with one last name, then suddenly using a new one. It makes me want to giggle when people call me by my married name. I guess I'll get used to it.

I considered keeping my maiden name, and as far as Social Security is concerned I use both, but ultimately I decided that it would be weird for the kids if we had 2 different names. The hell with hyphenation or making up a new name from the letters of both our names; I did not want to buy my unborn children 18 +years of merciless teasing.

I also had to change my email address. My dad has been an AOL subscriber since I was in HS, now he's decided to cancel the account, meaning my sister and I must make new arrangements. Maybe that's why I write, as a way to keep in touch with my identity no matter what I call myself, online or off.

I read a completely odious editorial in the Herald today, which basically sneered at those wishing for Bush to stand by his word and fire the Plame leaker (Rove) as promised. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet. No, the folks at the Herald were tap-dancing like there's no tomorrow. "He didn't use her name! How many Joe Wilsons are in the phone book? Come on!"

He didn't use her name...but it isn't that hard to figure out who he was referring to either.

Firing should be the least of his punishment.

I went to nursery school at a conservatory. I remember two things clearly about it. The first was falling into a bass drum and getting scolded by Miss Kitty. The second was falling off the slide and breaking my collarbone.

Not that I'm clumsy. I didn't actually fall the second time, I was pushed by a mean little shit named Jeremy. He was hogging the slide and calling it his "fort". I thought it sounded like fun, so I tried to breach the wall, only to be repelled. My mother tells me she made me drag my sister around the back yard on her little sled after school until I complained that my arm REALLY HURT loudly enough so that she took me to the Dr. I was in a sling for a couple of weeks and I was scared of Jeremy for the rest of the year.

The All Star Game is on.

And I almost forgot to watch it. For the first time in recorded history the Red Sox skipper gets to coach the AL team. For that matter, when is the last time the AL team lost an All Star Game?
